Pompe Support Network attended the 2024 AMDA/IPA Conference

Pompe Support Network attended the fantastic 2024 AMDA/IPA International Pompe Patient and Scientific Conference in San Antonio, Texas in early May. Hearing from world experts in Pompe about scientific research and developments was great. There were presentations about the benefits of diet and exercise along with ERT and the importance of NBS (New Born Screening). There were updates on Gene Therapy trials and possible new SRT (Substrate Reduction Therapy) which aims to reduce the amount of excess glycogen in the cell. Thanks to the organisers of the conference, the Acid Maltase Deficiency Association - AMDA https://amda-pompe.org and International Pompe Association (IPA) https://worldpompe.org for their work in making this a productive, well attended, collaborative and successful conference.
